Revolut Instant Bank Transfer vs Card at Casinos

Some casinos offer a deposit option that isn't a card at all — usually labelled "Pay by Bank", "Instant Bank Transfer", or a provider name like Trustly or Zimpler. If your bank is Revolut, this option may or may not show up depending on the casino's payment provider, and it works nothing like typing in a card number.

With a card deposit, you hand the casino your card number, expiry, and CVV — the casino (or its payment processor) charges that card, and Revolut is just the issuer approving or declining the charge in the background.

With an instant bank transfer, the flow is different: you pick your bank from a list at checkout, and you're redirected to a genuine Revolut login screen — not a page styled to look like one, but Revolut's actual authentication. You approve the exact amount using Revolut's own security (app confirmation, biometrics, whatever you'd normally use). The money leaves your Revolut account as a real transfer, and the casino confirms it in real time. Your card number, expiry, and CVV are never involved, because no card is used at any point.

Casinos don't build this themselves — they plug in a provider like Trustly or Zimpler, which handles the bank connections. Whether Revolut shows up as a selectable option depends entirely on that provider's coverage in your country; both Trustly and Zimpler have added Revolut as a supported bank in a growing number of markets, but it isn't universal yet, and support is still strongest in the Nordic countries and Ireland, where this style of payment originated. Coverage will differ by casino and region, so the only reliable way to know is to check what appears at the checkout screen.

The other piece of this — often called "Pay N Play" — is that your bank connection can also carry verified identity details (name, date of birth) straight to the casino during that first deposit. Some casinos use this to skip a separate registration and document-upload step entirely: the deposit itself creates and verifies your account. Not every casino using instant bank transfer does this, but where it's offered, it's usually the main reason players prefer it over a card deposit.

This matters if something goes wrong: a card payment can be disputed through the card network chargeback process (see our disputes guide). A bank transfer isn't a card transaction, so it doesn't have the same chargeback mechanism — once it's sent, reversing it generally depends on the casino cooperating or a bank-side fraud claim, not a standard dispute form. Same principle as card deposits: most casinos send withdrawals back through the same method and the same bank account you deposited with, as a standard anti-fraud measure. If you deposited via instant bank transfer, expect your withdrawal to land back in that same Revolut account rather than anywhere else.
